35,000 Lumens Establishes New Benchmark for Contemporary Modern Round Site/Area Luminaire

Greenville, SC – September 26, 2017 – Hubbell Lighting, a global leader in lighting innovation, announced today that KIM Lighting has commercially introduced the new Ouro site/area family of luminaires. With its sophisticated styling, spec-grade performance and intuitive controls capability, the Ouro will immediately fill a much needed gap in the market for performance round luminaires.

The Ouro was designed to blend in naturally with the environment in which it would operate, complementing the essence of the space and inspiring creative ambitions while meeting strict performance metrics that keep pedestrians safe and secure. The sleek, contemporary style family of luminaires can scale from pedestrian walkways up to 40 feet making it the ideal choice for a project that requires a range of offerings in a cohesive design family.

Ease of installation and maintenance has been a Kim hallmark. Ouro has a tool free entry – a  latch is provided to open the fixture and there is a kickstand to hold the clamshell open for installation and maintenance. A speed mount is also included for wall and pole mount applications. Install the speed mount, run the wiring, slide the luminaire into place, connect the field wires to the terminal block and it is ready to be energized.

The Ouro is the first contemporary modern round site/area luminaire to offer up to 37,000 delivered lumens at 137 Lumens per Watt. To achieve this, KIM has blended the best of its award winning optical technology to ensure visual continuity, precise illumination, scalable lumen options, and true IES distributions.

There are three lens options: no lens for maximum performance, an IP 66 rated clear lens and a high diffusion lens option for low glare, high visual comfort pedestrian applications.  Amber, 3000, 4000 and 5000K color temperatures are standard.

KIM’s stellar BUG ratings are standard, and the entire family is Dark Sky compliant.

Integral wired and wireless controls ensure there is no compromise to the form factor.

Ouro controls offerings range from dawn-to-dusk photocell to advanced wireless solutions. The distributed intelligent lighting controls provide a complete suite of California Title 24/ASHRAE compliant energy saving solutions.

Hubbell Control Solutions’ SiteSync is an option for the Ouro, offering flexibility, ease of design, installation simplicity, and the reliability of a wireless architecture. With its pre-programmed approach, installation of SiteSync is a quick and easy process, greatly reducing the complexity, time and cost compared to typical field commissioned systems.

The Features and Benefits of the Ouro include:
