Summary

As a Lighting Territory Sales Representative, we challenge you to deliver superior customer experiences while being held accountable for the promotion and sale of a broad range of lighting products & solutions within your assigned territory.

Responsibilities 

  • Lighting sales with a focus on premium products sold directly to end users.
  • Completion of on-site energy surveys with an emphasis on presentation of applicable lighting solutions.
  • Proactively call on previous and existing customers as well as leads provided by parent company to generate lighting sales revenue.
  • Leverage existing relationships with architects/engineers and lighting designers to sell Big Ass Lighting products and create sales opportunities.
  • Systematically analyze and report sales results, expectations, market, competition and trends.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers in such forms as product training and demonstrations; partner with inside staff to ensure all sales activities are handled efficiently; keep management informed of any problems, competitor issues or other factors affecting the assigned territory with recommendations for improvements/changes; assume additional related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Collaborate with architects/engineers and lighting designers to up sell Big Ass Lighting products and create sales opportunities.
  • Ensure availability of goods/deliverables in cooperation with orders and logistics.

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing.
  • 3-5 years of lighting, electronic controls, or electrical distribution sales experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the lighting business and in-depth knowledge of products and applications.
  • A proven track record in customer relationship building with contractors and distributors.
  • Proven ability and track records of closing deals.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills;
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to work with limited supervision;
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and meet deadlines within a fast paced environment
  • Strong computer skills within a PC environment; able to learn new systems quickly.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed
  • **Lighting/LED/LEED/or Controls Certification is highly desirable
