As part of our aggressive growth strategy, WAC Lighting is seeking an experienced Specification Regional Sales Manager to expand our presence deeper within the US Market.

Description:

The Specification Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategy through independent sales representatives for achievement of sales targets.  Their primary focus will be marketing to specifiers for the expansion of specified project business. 

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of WAC’s specification business to meet sales targets and increase market.
  • Develops and implements sales strategy targeting architects, designers, engineers, etc. to drive inclusion of WAC product on job specifications.
  • Manages and directs independent sales representative network within a specified geographic territory.  Sets sales targets for each representative and monitors/measures performance.
  • Makes hiring and termination decisions for sales representatives within the territory.
  • Works with sales representatives to aggressively seek out and pursues new specification business prospects.
  • Works closely with showroom sales managers to resolve sales representative conflicts and make decisions in the best interest of the overall business.
  • Supports the upsell and development of existing business currently being serviced through WAC’s Distribution network.
  • Conducts presentations and negotiations with existing and new accounts and potential prospects including closing on sales opportunities.
  • Develops strong relationships with all decision makers including distributors, specifiers, architects, designers, buying groups, and project managers.
  • Works with internal support teams to ensure all aspects of project management are completed at a high level of service and within expected timelines.
  • Works with internal support teams to develop and enhance internal infrastructure to support specification business.
  • Develops & manages sales budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensures all purchase agreements, contracts and other documentation are completed accurately, where necessary.
  • Assists in the preparation of inventory requirements and scheduling.
  • Participates in developing new product strategies that meet the strategic sales objectives of the company.
  • Works with customers and internal resources to overcome barriers that might delay project implementation.
  • Develops and maintains reporting on sales activity and implementation of strategic plans.

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel and work 75% in the field.
  • Bachelors degree with 8-10 years of specification sales management with experience managing independent sales representatives.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategy for sales results with a proven track record of successful achievement of sales targets.
  • Understanding of the lighting industry with solid contacts in the specification community.
  • Strong technical lighting knowledge including photometrics and the latest in lighting technology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Solid oral and written communication & presentation skills
  • Domestic travel
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
