Regional Sales Manager, Northeast–Universal Lighting Technologies

POSITION: Regional Sales Manager/ Sr. Regional Sales Manager (Distribution)

DEPARTMENT: Sales

REPORTS TO: VP, Sales East

Candidate Must Live In the Territory of: New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania and New York City

SCOPE OF POSITION

Responsible for developing and execution of sale plans for each territory in his/her region and responsible for managing all regional agency & distributors relationships.   

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for managing key relationships with the following: Distribution Chains and Independents, Corporate Accounts, End Users, Electrical Contractors, ESCO’s, LMC’s, Lighting Manufacturers RSM’s, and Lighting Representative Firms  
  • Manages 1 direct report – Sales Representative – Distribution
    • Regularly evaluate performance, mentors and offers guidance around prioritizing time, schedule, negotiations and strategic direction.
    • Provide daily advice, guidance  & direction to attain maximum sales volume from all distribution markets for the ULT’s products and /or services 
  • Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, other key personnel)
  • Competitor analyses – analyze the competitive position of the organization’s products and/or services
  • Working with Marketing & Communications – formulating and executes sales promotion policies and programs
  • Management and control of all regional sales expenses (promotional, operating, travel & entertainment)
  • Securing sales opportunities, orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility or contacting by phone
  • Provide management prompt communication on all sale activities and important developments in the sales region (sales reports, competitor information, lost business reports etc..)
  • Performs assigned duties with minimum personal supervision from the manager

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree in a related field of study
  • 7+ years  sales experience in commercial lighting and or electrical distribution
  • Prior experience in management of sales agents
