Requirements :  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration; or related field
  • 6 to 8 years of progressively responsible related sales and/or marketing experience
  • Strong understanding of lighting products and solutions, lighting business and distribution.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective consultative selling skills required.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of Acuity Brands Lighting business systems.
  • Bias for action and demonstrated achievement of results.
  • Must be comfortable with working until the job is completed and available to travel up to 50% of the time.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., efficiently identify and handle objects, and stand for extended periods of time.

Description:        Acuity Brands is seeking a Regional Sales Manager for our Western Region. This position will interface with a multi-disciplinary team including marketing, engineering, quality, technical and product support, sourcing to achieve profit and loss objectives. Must establishing and cultivate business and professional relationships with our agencies, distributor partners and contractors.  These relationships should be leveraged to profitably grow our market share and drive sales of ABL products within the stock and flow arena.  Responsible for being the company’s eyes and ears within the marketplace and serve as the voice of our customer to internal company functions.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Provide product, policy, promotion and business system training for our agents and distributor partners.  This is achieved through on-going training and communication with internal functions back in Conyers as well as direct field contact with our agency and distributor personnel.
  • Develop open lines of communication with our assigned agencies.  Understand their business models and our customers’ business models so that the position can add value during territory sales calls.
  • Develop stock and flow strategies for our designated agencies.  Analyze and identify what is being sold and stocked within our distributors’ locations and the underlying reasons for this.  Visually inspect our distributors’ shelves and meet with key distributor salesman during calls.
  • Increase registrations and usage of Lithonia’s online tools, specifically the Lithonia Distributor Center.  Educate our agents and our distributor partners on the capabilities and values of this tool to increase stock and flow sales and lower our transaction costs.    
  • Heavily promote new products and seek opportunities and applications within the new construction and retrofit markets.  Communicate our successes to the field and work with agents and distributors on joint sales calls to key contractors and facility managers.        
  • Support our DSP and IMARK customers and work with them to maximize their participation and increase brand awareness and preference for Lithonia Lighting products.
  • Support all national, regional and strategic account promotions.  Monitor and communicate results to both agency and distributor personnel.
  • Work with the regional sales team (RSVP & SSM) and product groups to develop agency sales targets as well as implement plans to help each agency achieve these goals.
