Regional Sales Director-Industrial Vertical – Holophane/Acuity Brands Lighting

Location:               Upper Midwest region or Gulf Coast region  

Job Summary

Acuity Brands, Inc. a North American market leader and one of the world’s leading providers of lighting solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications, is seeking a highly motivated and results driven Regional Sales Director-Industrial  for our Holophane Direct Sales team, reporting to the VP Sales-Industrial .

There are 2 remote sales positions, with ideal candidates located near a major metro area in the upper Midwest region (requisition 805) or in the gulf coast (TX,LA) region (requisition 806).

Increase lighting sales and promote brand preference of Acuity Brands Lighting with key Industrial markets and segments, collaboratively with the Acuity/Holophane direct sales force and sales management. Provide sales leadership and support for large Industrial customers and opportunities, for all sales territories within assigned sales regions. Works to maintain key customer relationships and implement the Industrial vertical strategy within assigned sales regions.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:          

  • Serve as the primary Industrial vertical contact/expert for the marketplace.   
  • Responsible for compiling competitive information to help create a more intelligent and workable strategic plan to identify our customers and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses to determine where the plan can be implemented to best grow sales.             
  • In conjunction with the sales force, drive demand and meet sales goals in the region by being a vertical market expert understanding the customer’s needs, and how to sell to deliver the best Acuity solution.         
  • In coordination with the RSVP/RVP, define sales goals in the assigned region(s).             
  • Help coordinate all Industrial sales activities and account responsibilities with the sale representative to further strengthen our position and coverage of the marketplace.  Also, available to assist on local sales calls with the sales representative.
  • Provides support for the customer and sales representative. Communicate product needs to the PMD while also streamlining the process for better field coordination and customer satisfaction. 
  • Offering lighting design assistance and other technical support as needed by the customer and field sales team.
  • Utilize ABS tools to increase sales force effectiveness and improve our bottom line sales.        
  • Work with the marketing matrix to develop market specific tools to help drive increased sales and profitability within the vertical sales channel and leverage these resources across the regions.

Requirements  

  • 6 to 8 years comparable experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Marketing, Business and/or Engineering
  • Understanding of key Industrial markets. 
  • Working knowledge of visual lighting software. 
  • Ability to completely deliver lighting and controls solutions to Industrial customers, from specification through project delivery.
