We seek a Product Marketing Manager that will be located in Solon, Ohio (NE Ohio).

PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Determine and actively manage product portfolio.

Research and provide analysis of external factors (markets and competition) and internal factors (capabilities, product line performance and others) as an input into strategy and decision making.

Liaise between sales, R&D Engineering, sourcing, and operations in the implementation of new product ideas and product improvements.

Ensure the best possible fit between selected target markets and customer needs in comparison to products offered in order to secure a continuous stream of profitable revenue.

Develop and provide expert knowledge in TLED lighting:

  • Understand impacts to the quality of our products.
  • Understand our operations and assembly systems and capabilities.
  • Be the repository of knowledge for LED lighting and retrofit.

Work closely with R&D Engineering and operations to identify and address product performance issues.  Function as the central subject matter expert regarding products and product knowledge among all departments across the organization.  Provide consideration and insight into lighting fixtures and lamps for the retrofit lighting market.

Work closely with sales and field personnel.  Collaborate in Voice of Customer activity.

Champion the internal communication of product related issues.

Identify product improvement priorities and facilitate solution activities.

Collaborate with Finance on financial product performance.

Collaborate with Marketing Communications to create brochures, sales tools, website, campaigns, social media, etc.

Collaborate in stage gate reviews for new products. 

Provide final authority for updates to existing sourced products.

Collaborate with R&D Engineering on development projects.

Lead innovation of new technology that will meet and exceed the scope of the development of a new product.

Collaborate with development team in establishing proposal benchmarks and timelines.

Present product qualification research and findings to executive management or others as needed.

Determine and establish formal certification requirements for all Energy Focus products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

3-7 years of experience in TLED lighting products and retrofits, and B2C.

Excellent communicator.  Excellent listening skills and the ability to transfer information and data into a knowledge repository.

Proven history of successful portfolio management in the lighting industry with emphasis in LED lamps and luminaires.

Experience collaborating with teams of all sizes.

Understanding of the stage gate process for product development.  

Instinctive about and aligned with customers.  Politeness, tact, patience, and diplomacy are valued characteristics.

Highly creative thinker with the ability to envision and bring ideas to life.

Well-developed technical/computer skills.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Engineering or related field of study required, MBA desired.
