Halco Lighting, one of the fastest growing lighting suppliers in the US, is seeking an experienced Product Manager to be based in its Atlanta location.
This person is responsible for the product profit and loss (P&L) operating/sales goals and forecasting for assigned product categories; including but not limited to:
- Management of the product lifecycle;
- Determine products for expansion of the product line and lead product excess and obsolete programs
- Monitor inventory level on assigned products and provide input as to recommended inventory levels to ensure continued supply
- Determine potential supplier sources for assigned products and provide analysis and recommendations
- Lead assign product categories product launch by coordinating and leading all training activities for both the customer and internal teams
- Monitor market pricing and provide price modification recommendations to Pricing Manager
- Working with Compliance Manager to ensure compliance with current legislation;
- Negotiate costs and payment terms with vendors in assigned categories to ensure maximum overall profitability
- Participate in the development of marketing materials to include related to assigned categories;
- Provide sales support on technical issues, as well as act in a technical sales role whenever possible;
- Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of the competitive landscape using this understanding to provide competitive intelligence to sales;
- Participate in industry associations and trade groups to further knowledge and understanding of the products and industry;
- Provide product specific training to internal departments on assigned categories
- Ensure prompt and satisfactory resolution to all product complaints in assigned categories;
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Engineering preferred; MBA a plus
- Minimum (5) years product management experience in commercial lighting required (specifically with linear fluorescent )
- Knowledge and experience in LED strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office;
- Advanced organization and time management skills;
- Proven project management skills
- Possess strong problem identification, structuring, and solving skills;
- Communicate effectively, either written or oral, at all organizational levels;
- Ability to set and manage dynamic priorities according to business needs;
- Self-starter, able to work with little direct supervision;
- Must be able to travel at minimum 40% – domestic and internationally
