Selux is looking for a leader, someone who can inspire innovation in our engineering team while making sure the nuts and bolts work gets done as well. This person will have experience building teams and developing engineers to reach their full potential. Selux provides a fast paced growth environment while manufacturing beautiful architectural light fixtures for both interior and exterior applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all design activities, documentation control, engineering change coordination, BOM development and maintenance.
- Responsible for developing, reporting on and attaining departmental schedules and goals.
- Drive product cost reduction through design for manufacturability and assembly initiatives.
- Responsible for establishing engineering procedures and standards.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing.
- Provides product cost estimates to the quotations team.
- Provides quotes and feasibility evaluations on customized projects to sales group as needed.
- Responsible for developing and reporting on departmental budget.
- Direct contact with customers, sales departments and suppliers.
- Coordinate technical training for Selux staff and outside customers.
- Responsible for coordination for information exchange with other divisions of the corporation.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years’ experience in metal fabrication and electro/mechanical manufacturing assembly.
- 5+ years Lighting Experience.
- Product submission for UL/CSA Listing
Job Knowledge and Skills:
- Computer skills; Solid Works, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and MRP program
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes; milling, drilling, extrusions, casting, sheet metal processing, product assembly, welding and fabricating.
- Solid foundation in mechanical design and familiarity with electrical design.
- General Lighting theory
- UL1598 Luminaries and NEC
