ODM Manager–Echelon

Reports to:  VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

LOCATION: SANTA CLARA, CA, USA

DESCRIPTION:

Echelon seeks an enthusiastic and energetic ODM Manager to lead strategic development initiatives with ODM partners to manufacture key products in the Echelon product line. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing multiple high volume ODM product lines ensuring continuity of supply for fulfilment, product risk reduction, ensuring highest level of company quality standards.
  • Drive material and supply chain readiness for all NPI builds from concept phase to production handoff. Track cost against project budgets.
  • Identify supply chain risks and mitigation plans to ensure material readiness for NPI builds as well as supply continuity into production
  • Update project schedules. Communicate status, risks and influence change, representing the materials organization in internal program meetings.
  • Be the primary materials liaison with ODM/CM/Suppliers. Partner with sustaining teams to ensure successful handoff.
  • Drive initiatives and process improvements to help the team grow in scalability.
  • Contract and cost negotiation with suppliers.
  • Ability to create opportunities through tactical business relationships using knowledge of offshore design service models, business methodology, and support services.
  • Forming excellent cross-functional teams to collaborate with highest efficiency models, ensuring supply chain flexibility and efficiency.
  • Accountable for overall factory execution, as well as implementation of processes/ tools that enhance ODM/CM/Suppliers product delivery capabilities.
  • Work closely with ODM/CM/Suppliers on supply plan execution and meeting requirements for fulfillment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for last time buys, how to end of life products, and protocol for line down and stop ship situations.
  • Measure and report metrics on performance, execution to commit, on time delivery, material availability, and status of supply plans, inventory liabilities and manufacturing operation data.
  • Provide timely feedback at business review meetings.

Competencies:

  • BA/BS degree in relevant field or equivalent experience is required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10 years working directly with original design manufacturers (ODMs) and contract manufacturers (CMs).
  • Experience with wireless (RF) and powerline (PL) device manufacturing and testing preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and to close complex agreements.
  • Superior abilities in identification and development of key industry relationships
  • Skills in determining and addressing demand needs though analysis, planning, and project management capability.
  • Comfortable shifting between hands-on detailed analysis and big picture thinking and customizing communication based on the audience.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and finance.
  • Excellent analytical skills, tenacious problem solver with strong, logical, and organized verbal/written communication and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrable leadership and people management/development skills. 
  • Ability to travel frequently (25% or more) and work in offshore manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to accommodate time zone differences between employee’s home office and other Echelon supplier facilities.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems including, but not limited to, Netsuite and Microsoft office products. 
  • Lighting industry experience a plus.
