A New Product Development Engineer at ALW actively designs ALW luminaires and presents formal objectives and schedules for all phases of Product Development, from conception to market introduction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Works in sync with Product Manager to design and launch products throughout for complete lifecycle – Conception to Launch
- Proactively engages in identifying market trends and awareness, and implementing trends and innovation into ALW’s product offering
- Works swiftly on schedule in the regular launch of ALW Luminaires, providing detailed and vetted product information to our Engineering, Marketing and Sales team
- Maintains accurate timeline and organized product information, including all material documentation, such as ETL/UL
- Works closely without our Product Manager and Inventory Manager to ensure the appropriate materials and parts are inventoried for market launch and rollout
- Stays up-to-date on quality standards, parts design and efficiency/efficacy requirements of ALW’s Luminaires.
- Works directly with the Product Manager, CEO and Director of Brand Marketing to implement well-rounded luminaires, providing complete product information for an effective Product launch (material diagrams, engineering drawings, etc.)
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Lighting Product Design and Engineering Degree in Engineering or design related field
- Strong familiarity with Solid works software
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Relocation benefits are not provided for this role. Only local candidates residing within 50 miles of Hayward, CA will be considered.
