National Sales Manager – eCommerce Lighting Distribution

We are an energy efficient lighting products distribution company specializing in commercial and industrial lighting projects both nationally and internationally. We are looking for a high energy, ambitious, experienced, and entrepreneurial sales management professional that has the desire to take command and direct the overall sales department into continued sales growth. The ideal candidate will couple strong managerial skills with steadfast integrity, and will work well in a fast-paced, energetic environment while striving to meet high goals. You will be able to maintain positive attitude and professionalism through stressful situations, including managing challenging sales deadlines and quotas.

This is a chance to take command and direct the increase in existing inside sales team performance while building an outside team from the ground up. It will be will combining our primarily eCommerce/internet focused marketing and its lightning fast systems, flexibility, and new way of selling lighting to win in the traditional lighting distribution market and to lead us to a new sales level.

This position is full time and includes:

  • Base salary plus bonus structure

This position allows working from home/remotely and you must be located in or be willing to relocate to Colorado and available for work during normal business hours. A small amount of travel will be needed to meet with the existing sales team members throughout the state.

Task responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for achieving sales, profit, and growth goals for the company.
  • Manage our existing inside sales department and sales representatives.
  • Build and grow the outside sales department, including having an active role in outside sales representative hiring.
  • Develop and manage the CRM system, management tools, and reports to effectively manage      and train the inside and outside sales team.
  • Prepare detailed sales forecasts, projections, and metrically-driven sales priorities for the company.
  • Travel within Colorado as needed for in person meetings.
  • Lead and motivate through effective and open communication, excellent leadership, regular performance feedback, team building and initial training of existing representatives and new customers in order to maximize customer satisfaction, business results and employee satisfaction.
  • Adhere to Company policies and business procedures.
  • Additional tasks as required.

Critical Criteria — all team members must meet these requirements:

  • 5+ years demonstrated excellent sales performance in a quota-carrying sales role.
  • 3+ years demonstrated excellent performance in a sales management role.
  • Be able to work remotely or from home effectively in a distraction-free environment.
  • Experience in the lighting industry, or have the ability and desire to learn detailed and technical products.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, train, and grow sales teams.
  • Must be located or you are willing to relocate to Colorado
  • 10-20% travel to meet up with members of your sales team located throughout Colorado.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Expert in CRM systems.
  • Be very tech savvy, comfortable with, and fast with computers and web based software and websites.
  • Staying extremely organized, meticulous, and detailed.
  • Highly motivated with the ability and discipline to work independently once given directive, with the ability to self-teach in new systems, software, and processes.
  • Jack-of-all-trades mentality with a desire to continually learn and participate in a variety of activities and tasks.
  • Desire to work with and maintain flexibility with a fast moving and growing small company
  • Have a strong work ethic and great attitude with a desire to help with whatever is needed.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Hold an undergraduate and/or graduate degree.
  • Highly desired: Experience and expertise in the industrial and commercial energy efficient lighting field.
  • Have many contacts in the lighting and/or contracting community.
  • Passion for helping businesses lower energy costs and helping the environment through cost-effective energy efficiency or renewable energy measures.

You will report to and work closely with the President & CEO, and the position is critical to taking the company to the next level.
