NATIONAL SALES MANAGER—LIGHTING (Chicago)

SALES…..LIGHTING ….LED…BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Growing Manufacturing Co. with challenging new position at 75 yr. old Chicago based Co. Manage existing account sales and develope strategic new markets for growing demand in the booming LED lighting space.

We manufacture a leading line of LED task/undercabinet/cove lighting. Better than the “brand name” competition yet a lot less expensive. All are UL and Estar. Compare the specs; Radionic wins against all the major brands on lumens/foot, lumens/watt,  90CRI,cost, etc.  Just introduced is a  new model with a USB charging port (no others on the market).

RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manage existing accounts including OEM’s and Electrical Distributors + a major $9bb distributor.
  • Develop sales strategy to grow our LED lighting product line
  • IDENTIFY AND HIRE NEW REPS IN MAJOR MARKET AREAS
  • Penetrate additional major NATIONAL  LIGHTING DISTRIBUTOR accounts
  • National & Local trade shows
  • Keep abreast of LED trends and new product developments to identify new product opportunities for Radionic.
  • Travel: 20-25%

Required background, skills and competencies:

 LIGHTING SALES experience. min. 4 yrs.

  • Previous experience selling to electrical distributors nationally & ability to hire new reps in key markets.
  • Based in our office on NW side of Chicago and travel approx. 20%
  • Proven success in selling Lighting via reps and distributors
  • Four year college degree
    • Strong sense of focus
    •  Effective at identifying and solving problems
    •  Goal oriented
    •  GOOD BUSINESS JUDGEMENT. There’s no point in designing what GE already has on  the shelf at Lowes!
    •  EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN SKILLS
    •  Strong computer skills

Radionic is a 75 yr. old company and has had only two owners during all of those years. it is stable, growing and a long term employer. . Our LED and electronic ballast business is growing with the addition of new models designed by our talented Chicago based engineering group. Our Lab is UL approved and does UL testing in house. Additional engineering and development work is done in China so evaluating designs and samples from China and corresponding with them is another function of this position.

Radionic also has the only line UL approved line of LED EXIT SIGN RETROFIT kits. Already installed in many major Chicago buildings (incl. 3,000 in Willis/Sears Tower) and ready to expand our market to other major cities.

This position REQUIRES BOTH Sales and General Business experience .Your experience MUST BE LIGHTING SALES and LED experience would be big plus. We currently also manufacture magnetic ballasts in our Chicago facility and LED Fixtures + Electronic Ballasts in several factories in China & Korea and part of the position is to be responsible for handling strategic lighting OEM accts.
