Position:        Midwest Regional Sales Manager

Job Description:  GM Lighting has been fortunate to experience steady growth over the last ten years, building a reputation of product excellence and reliability.  Our Regional Sales Manager will hit the ground running and manage all sales and distribution in the Midwest United States, and Central Canada.  Candidate will ideally work at our corporate headquarters in Mokena, IL – outside of Chicago.   The position will manage key relationships in the territory, and function as the primary contact for our agents, key electrical distributors and lighting showroom partners. 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Achievement of GM Lighting sales and profit targets.
  • Work within an established framework of product distribution and sales while hitting and exceeding all sales goals and quotas.
  • Promote sales and marketing programs with key territory accounts while continuing to develop new territories and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy that leverages our business relationships with your experience and expertise.
  • Review, analyze and implement GM Lighting sales programs.
  • Ability to make effective informal and formal presentations is a must, as is the ability to travel extensively 60% of the time.
  • Monitor and assess competition while assisting GM Lighting to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Work with our marketing team to make sure that reps keep us on the front burner and are aware of all new product updates, announcements, and product introductions.
  • Attend national and/or regional trade shows and lead in our booth or represent GM Lighting as you walk the floor.

Qualifications:

  • 5 – 10 years previous sales management experience in the lighting industry (LED experience a must).
  • Excellent team participation and team building skills
  • Knowledge of the electrical industry and a keen understanding of electrical distribution.
  • Ability to communicate on a professional level with sales reps, architects, lighting designers, interior designers, facility managers, etc.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Team player, with the ability to balance personal goals with those of the broader organization, and the ability to forge working relationships with others in order to get things done.
  • Ability to work well without supervision. 
  • Self-motivator
