We currently have an opening for an Industrial Engineer, NPI within our Operations Engineering Group. 

Shift: 7:00am – 3:00pm (Mon-Fri)

Summary:
The primary purpose of the Industrial Engineer is to focus on the successful design and execution of safe, efficient production systems, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and assembly operations. The Industrial Engineer, NPI performs the following duties:

  • Works closely with developmental engineering teams to ensure ease of assembly, FMEA resolutions, Process Control, DFM, and successful engineering, training and production pilot runs.
  • Responsible for efficient manufacture of assigned products.
  • Responsible for new equipment design/order/install and training documentation.
  • Works closely with multi-disciplinary teams to effectively design, launch, and sustain market-leading products.
  • Plans the utilization of equipment, materials, and personnel to maximize safety, quality and productivity and minimize cost.
  • Works to improve safety, quality and productivity through the use of ergonomics, time studies, procedural analysis, product design/redesign and specification of tooling, fixturing, controls and mechanization/automation.
  • Utilizes work measurement to maximize line balancing, line capacities and direct labor effectiveness.
  • Analyzes work force utilization, work center layout, material flows, production costs, process flow and production requirements to determine the most efficient utilization of personnel and equipment.
  • Prepares and presents cost justifications, equipment specification and design options, project plans, support information, etc.
  • Confers with management, product engineering, production supervision, production personnel, Quality Control and peers to aid with design and implementation plans.
  • Develops operating and safety procedures for all implemented equipment and ensures it is properly protected before passing it to production personnel.
  • Works to continually improve production procedures, practices tooling and systems.
  • Participates in LEAN manufacturing initiatives and supports the LEAN Enterprise.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • BS degree from a four-year college/university in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Prior work experience in the field.
  • Very good communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures/drawings and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, suppliers and manufacturing personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams on multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent observational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good listening and interpersonal skills.
  • High motivation with continuous drive for improvement.
  • SolidWorks is a Plus
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
