Engineer/Specification Sales Rep –Julian Ferguson & Assoc., Inc.; Vinton VA
Seeking a qualified Sales Representative to call on Architects/Engineers and maintain and grow National Account Sales Business. This position provides value to our customers through solution-based selling and a true understanding of customer needs. We value teamwork and actively foster a collaborative work environment. All sales representatives are held to a high degree of accountability for performance but are given the freedom to execute sales plans.
Our product line is extensive and requires a dedicated individual to service our customers.

The functions of this position will vary but basic functions will include:
- Ability to talk about and promote all product lines represented
- Facilitate sales growth to meet yearly targets by developing new and growing existing customer base
- Establish and build solid relationships with key decision makers and related influencers.
- Assist in developing specifications and facilitate the specifications process
- Educate and train the specification community, building knowledge and acceptance of products
- Stay current with manufacturers represented and facilitate joint sales calls.
- Document activity and provide information in a timely manner
- Work with the project, technical and quotations teams to deliver accurate and timely information back to the customer
- Communicate proactively with customers to grow market
- Complete layouts for National Accounts and other design projects
- Flexibility in being able to work within a team environment; managing multiple projects and tasks at the same time
- Professional in appearance and attitude and able to work with customers, vendors and colleagues on all levels
Requirements:
Candidate should have a degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or 10yr experience equivalent as well as have a basic understanding of engineering concepts. Candidate should possess basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and CAD. Would be an added benefit to be familiar with some form of Lighting Design Software. Candidate must be self-motivated.
