Halco Lighting Technologies, one of the fastest growing lighting manufacturers is seeking and experienced Director, Product Development. This position will develop and maintain the overall strategic product development plan as well as create and own the Company’s product roadmap. This position will guide the positioning, sourcing and development of products from existing product lines, new ideas and will implement VOC (Voice of the Customer) methodologies into the business.
Main responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Develop and maintain the overall strategic product plan for the company which includes all product life cycle design and strategic to tactical activities.
- Manage the Product management team to ensure product line plans are complete and executed
- Track all products to measure overall P&L per product line
- Support the development of multi-generational product plans based on market research and customer inputs
- Identify and execute potential process improvements (i.e. sales forecast, pricing, product development and configuration)
- Cultivate a deep understanding of the customer
- Drive initiatives focused on defining the value of Halco’s product line for marketing and sales training purposes
- Manage contractual strategic partnerships with third party suppliers
- Be aware of product compliance requirements and oversee function to ensure all requirements are met
Minimum requirements:
•5+ years of product management, product development or product marketing leadership – lighting experience in a manufacturing company a plus.
•Previous management experience leading teams thru a product development process to include all governing compliance requirements related to the lighting industry
•Excellent communication and strategic planning skills
• Minimum five years’ experience sourcing thru overseas suppliers
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred; MBA a plus
