Design Engineer–LDPI

DESIGN ENGINEER – COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL LIGHTING PRODUCTS – EAU CLAIRE, WI.  LDPI, Inc., the industry leader in paint spray booth lighting, has been manufacturing hazardous fluorescent lighting for over three decades.  LDPI continues to be the solution to the specialized lighting needs of the finishing, fabricating and industrial markets.  From inception, the LDPI product line has grown and become diversified to cover a wide spectrum of applications such as wet, harsh, marine, general industrial and clean-room applications.  Due to continuing growth, we have an immediate opening for a Design Engineer.  This person will be responsible for assisting in the R & D of new products through the creation of new product concepts, manufacturing drawings and electrical schematics with a large emphasis on sheet metal and casting design.  A few of the specific job duties will include:

•Create new light fixture designs and electrical schematics using SolidWorks

•Project management

•R & D for new and modified products

•Prototype assembly

•Maintenance of nationally recognized testing laboratory certifications

•Cost estimating of new products

•Tooling and fixture design for fabrication

•New product packaging design

The ideal candidate will have a college degree in an engineering discipline, previous product design experience, a strong background in SolidWorks design software or a similar 3D modeling program, experience in designing castings and/or with sheet metal, and a basic knowledge of electrical circuits.  This full-time position provides a competitive compensation and benefits package along with the advantages of working for a family-owned, family-focused business.
