Customer Service/ Inside Sales Lead–IOTA Engineering

IOTA Engineering is a privately held electronics engineering and manufacturing company based in Tucson, AZ., serving the commercial lighting industry with our primary focus on state-of-the-art emergency lighting products.

We are actively seeking an individual with commercial lighting industry experience to manage our Inside Sales and Customer Service teams. Qualified candidates will have, at minimum, 3-5 years if experience in the lighting industry. An undergraduate degree is preferred. IOTA engineering offers a competitive salary and benefits package. 


Position Title: Customer Service/ Inside Sales Lead                       

Position Summary

The Customer Service/ Inside Sales Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Customer Service and Inside Sales Team in support of daily, monthly and annual goals. Providing world class customer and technical service to agents and customers in the commercial lighting industry is a must.  Development into the liaison between inside and outside sales.

Tasks

Oversee and assist in all aspects of the Customer Service team:

  • Prepare orders and check all orders for accuracy on a daily basis
  • Provide customers with tracking numbers
  • Provide technical support
  • Provide price quotes
  • Create new customer accounts
  • Back-up for order entry and technical support personnel in the department, including the receptionist
  • Manage consignment warehouses on a weekly basis
  • Assign and send orders to the shipping department
  • Check commissions for accuracy on a monthly basis
  • Attend weekly meeting with production personnel
  • Other tasks as necessary

Skills

  • Experience in the commercial lighting industry, in depth knowledge of emergency lighting a plus. Must have lighting equipment product knowledge, understanding of different go-to market strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Communication skills are imperative as this position must be able to interact and communicate with our customers, potential customers, other departments within the company, and supporting agencies.

*Verbal skills to facilitate meetings, communicate with executives and co-workers, and have excellent customer service communication with customers and supporting agencies. 

*Writing skills to communicate well via e-mail with customers, co-workers and       agencies, and to organize data.

*Listening skills to understand the concerns and problems a customer is experiencing and respond accordingly.

  • Time management to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Reading comprehension: basic reading skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Technical comprehension skills are necessary to analyze situations and help customers solve problems while gathering information from various resources. 

Experience and Education

  • 3-5 years customer service experience in the commercial lighting industry experience is required
  • Emergency lighting experience a plus
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience 

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Sitting for long periods of time, office environment
  • Reading from a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Ability to drive to production facility for meetings, etc. (valid driver’s license)
