Recesso Lighting is seeking a contract product design engineer to design new luminaries and lighting shades.  The successful candidate will begin immediately with approximately a two month contract and work extending beyond this probable. This engineer will:

• Design lighting fixtures and components and produce engineering drawings
• Research and source materials, components, and services related to product development
• Work with manufacturers to create prototypes
• Review design decisions with our senior product designer for approval.

Background should include:

• Bachelor’s degree in design engineering or similar field
• Five years of experience designing lighting products
• Expertise in 3D modeling using Solidworks
• Must provide own workstation with Solidworks
• Experience with LED and solid state lighting
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes associated with sheet metal/aluminum, resin, plastic, and glass fabrication
• Knowledge of optics
