Application Engineer Specialist–Tempo

Position Summary 

This position is responsible for assisting sales and engineering in the application evaluation and product selection/configuration stages of the sales process.  The Technical Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users as well as identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.   This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills who can be “hands-on” with the products.  This position will report to the Director of Sales Support and will interface on a routine basis Engineering and Sales and Marketing.  Travel will be expected on a periodic basis to support sales at key customer accounts and installation of new products at customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Management of Beta product deployment to selected customers including defining product configuration and application take-offs.
  • Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings; provide periodic updates on product development and launch schedules.
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for installation guides and technical documentation (ie. Spec sheets).
  • Work with Marketing Team to develop sales tools, technical marketing collateral and manage product demo/display design and fabrication
  • Be an expert with respect to competitive products in relevant applications and markets

Requirements

  • Technical degree, 2 years min, 4 year plus
  • 5 years’ experience a min in lighting
  • 10% to 15%  travel
