TCP Hires Home Depot Veteren

AURORA, Ohio, June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — TCP, the global leader in energy efficient lighting products, announced today that industry veteran Jorge Fernandez will be joining the company in the position of Sr. Vice President of Business Development.  


Jorge comes to TCP from The Home Depot, where he distinguished himself leading that company’s rapid growth in energy efficient lighting.

Jorge came to The Home Depot in 2003 as a part of their management development program, starting out as an associate in the Internal Audit Leadership Program. He rose through several positions of increasing responsibility in Merchandising, eventually assuming his most recent position as Senior Merchant of LED Product Development.  While at The Home Depot, Jorge oversaw the company’s dramatic growth in energy efficient lighting and forged The Home Depot’s entry into the LED lighting category, helping the company reach a worldwide leadership position.  Prior to that he worked for AT&T (formerly BellSouth Telecommunications) as an engineering Project Manager in their networks division.

Jorge graduated in 1999 with a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  His wife Judy and child will soon relocate with Jorge to the Cleveland area.
