The Escambia Planning Board studied a draft version of a turtle lighting ordinance Monday morning.
Environmentalists have pointed out that Escambia is one of the last counties in Florida to adopt a lighting law that protects sea turtles, while many residents, condo associations and developers have expressed concerned over the cost of retrofitting existing buildings.
