MANITOWOC — Neal Verfuerth founded Orion Energy Systems in 1996 but he was not at Wednesday’s annual meeting for shareholders.
“Neal is the consummate entrepreneur,” James Kackley, board chairman, said of the businessman who is on a six-month paid leave of absence, drawing an annual salary of about $500,000. “He built the company from nothing to $100 million in (annual) revenue.”
