Don't Miss the Illumination Awards at the IES Annual Conference

The Conference is sold out this year for the first time in recent memory. As a former IES President, your humble editor could not be more thrilled that the Conference is back and in a big way.

We caught up with Megan Carroll at JFK on her way to Portland and here is what we learned:

  • Most years there are 400 to 500 submissions, this year there were 800--the most submissions ever.
  • 14 Awards will be presented during the dinner, which is also sold out.
  • The World Trade Center Transportation Hub, designed by Fisher Marantz Stone,  received the Award of Distinction.
  • On Friday, there will be a General Sessions lunch featuring three of the Illumination Awards. This lunch will be a case study for these projects and will include best practices.  If you ever plan on submitting for an Illumination Award, this lunch will be very beneficial.

See you in Portland!
