Charles F. Jerabek Elected to Luminus Devices Board of Directors

Jerabek Brings Decades of Lighting Industry Experience to Luminus and is Widely Recognized for His Leadership and Management Skills.


Billerica, MA, May 17, 2011—Luminus Devices, Inc. today announced the appointment of Charles F. Jerabek, recently retired Vice Chairman of Osram Sylvania, to its Board of Directors.

“Charlie Jerabek’s senior management experience in the lighting industry brings an added leadership dimension to the Luminus Board,” said Keith T.S. Ward, President and CEO of Luminus. “Our business is growing rapidly, and his years of experience in running global businesses in an ever changing economic and technological environment will make him a special voice on our dynamic board.”    

Founded in 2002, Luminus develops and manufactures big-chip LEDs.  The company is backed by several active venture capital firms including:  Argonaut Private Equity, Braemar Energy Ventures, DFJ and New Atlantic Ventures, Paladin Growth Capital and Stata Venture Partners. 

Mr. Jerabek was named Vice-Chairman of Osram Sylvania in 2009, having previously served as president and CEO. Jerabek first joined the company in 1973. He serves on the executive committee of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association board of governors and is the immediate past chairman. He has also been a board member for the Associated Industries of Massachusetts and President of the Exeter, NH Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the boards of several companies, including: The United Ways of New England. He is also a trustee of Endicott College.
