Boston Lights!

Last week, we left the IES Street and Area Lighting Conference a few hours early to head to Boston for the 3rd Bi-Annual Boston Lights. This is crazy season for shows and we regret that were not able to attend Stan Deutch & Associates bi-annual show in New York—held at the same time.

Boston Lights had great WiFi and we were able to send live updates via Twitter, Linked-in and Facebook. This was the first time we sponsored Boston Lights—and we are very particular about shows we sponsor—but it was a great show and we hope to sponsor again in 2016.

Smaller regional shows like Boston Lights are great because they are more intimate. They move at a slower pace and there is plenty of time to talk to any company attending—in depth.

For instance, I have never quite understood how color tuning worked and I spent about 20 minutes with Jean-Marc Gagnon of Lumenetix.  He explained it and demonstrated it in detail.  In addition,  many clients of his were at the  show displaying Lumenetix technology..

We saw 1.5 inch illuminated handrail by Intense Lighting. They were recently recognized NGL.

LF Illumination just showed a motorized track fixture that is RF controlled.

Karen Duffy explained that BK is launching higher lumen and higher wattage product, which they were displaying at the show.

Crestron showed a system can meet all control demands of the entire building from single channel relay to Dali.

Alan Pinchook  of Astar uses Xicato in all products because color appearance and longevity are critical.

GREEN CREATIVE released a new Generation 4 A19 LED with Industry Leading Efficacy

Meagan Carroll of Xicato showed a display booth featuring a two 3000K, 85 CRI lamps that render colors different.  We reported on this earlier in the week.

After the show ended we did go see the new incredible glowing LED Hammock on D Street. If you get to Boston, you need to see this.
