LIFETIME WARRANTY IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR DUCTILE IRON LAMPPOSTS AND BASE COVERS

Spring City, PA, May 15^th, 2008- Spring City Electrical Manufacturing (Spring City) announced the recent release of the most comprehensive warranty for ductile lampposts and ductile base covers for steel lampposts offered in the United States.  This warranty covers ductile lampposts and ductile base covers for steel lampposts to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and operation for twenty-five years (AASHTO minimum design life for luminaire support structure less than fifteen meters.)  Damage from vehicles is included within the terms of normal use.

Alan Brink, President of Spring City states that the durability of ductile iron lampposts is well documented.  “Hanging in our office are pictures of ground zero on 9/11 with some of the ductile lampposts on adjoining streets still standing.  If they are capable of surviving this kind of situation, low speed vehicle impacts from parking cars, delivery trucks or snow plows will not be a problem.  We have several large installations of ductile iron posts that have been in for fifteen years and have not had a single replacement.”

Chris Rosfelder Vice President of Sales adds,  “Over the life of a project, the slightly higher initial cost of ductile iron posts will provide significant savings to a city when compared to aluminum posts.”    He also said that he knew of one major city that purchased decorative aluminum bases for their traffic poles five years ago and this had to make a large buy of replacements because they had so many of them broken.
