EXCLUSIVE. MUST CREDIT EDISONREPORT
A EdisonReport source reported today that CV Lighting in Santa Ana, CA had
closed its doors. We checked the website, cvlightingusa.com, and it
was down.
Your humble editor called CV and they actually answered the phone. I
spoke with Burt Stieg, who confirmed the rumor. He said, "We quit taking
orders September 30th and we are officially closed." He explained,
"We just could not get credit from the banks. That's what killed us.
No loans."
In addition, he said that the reps had really been squeezed by the large OEM
conglomerates and had little time to sell CV Lighting products.
Mr. Steig also said that some of the products had moved to Tivoli and that they
were in negotiations to sell other product lines to different manufacturers.
Editor's Note: Usually when companies in our
industry close, they leave their website up and shut down their phones. It
is refreshing to see CV Lighting still attempting to take care of their business
as they exit.
